Quick Ways to De-Stress

The world is an uncertain and scary place right now, leaving many feeling anxious and stressed – me included. Here is a list of some easy activities to do that could help take your mind off things for a moment

  • listen to your favourite music
  • go for a walk
  • watch a funny video
  • read a book
  • write/journal
  • exercise
  • draw/doodle
  • talk to someone
  • put down your phone
  • spend time with your kids
  • scream into a pillow
  • do some stretches
  • look at some old photos that make you happy
  • bake
  • take a shower/bath
  • take a nap
  • write down 10 things you’re grateful for
  • count to 10 slowly
  • dance
  • play a game with someone (family member, friend, child)
  • have a healthy snack

Remember to go easy on yourself. There is nothing wrong with feeling stressed and anxious, especially in times like this. Pick your battles, and realize that not everything needs to be done all at once and be perfect. Your kids don’t need the perfect homeschool teacher and your house doesn’t need to be completely decluttered in the next 2 weeks. No one is expecting you to become the perfect Pinterest mom (who aren’t perfect, by the way. things get shoved aside for the perfect photo all the time, trust me).
