This little man had a rough night and day. He woke up at 1am vomiting bile, and a lot of it. His sats dropped, which was a huge indicator he may have aspirated. Right aways my mind went back to September, when twice within a week he went into severe respiratory distress due to aspirating after vomiting.
Do I take him in?
Do we stay home?
Wait?
Not wait?
Panic? (Yes, always, at least on the inside)

I watched him closely. Watched his breathing, his numbers. I gave him his ventolin, knowing if his airway is irritated that may help. Worst case it won’t help.
But after a bit, his numbers started to come back to a better range. His breathing remained stable enough the entire time – my mind didn’t tho.
After 1 1/2 hours of holding him, listening to him breathe and watching his numbers, I was able to get myself to put him back to bed, reassured that he was okay for now.
It took me a while longer to fall asleep, but his numbers stayed well enough to let him rest in his own bed.
In the morning he felt warm, was really irritated and just seemed to feel really lousy.
Do I take him in?
Do we stay home?
Wait?
Not wait?

He had a paediatrician appointment booked already, and he overall looked okay so I decided to snuggle lots and wait it out.
At the moment, he’s cranky but seems to be alright. He has daily nursing visits so we will keep a close eye on everything (as always) and can hopefully avoid any setbacks. 🙏🏻 #ethanstrong
